Catoosa Sofa 104″

Between Two Hills

As a major port city to the Mississippi, the Catoosa sofa’s soft curves and bends replicates two aspects of this town at the gateway of the Cherokee Nation. The sofa’s soft curves and bends replicates the Verdigris river from the pPort of Catoosa as it winds through the easter part of the state as it meets up with the Mississippi.  The other organic shapes that are formed into the sofa are the essence of the rolling hills that surround Catoosa.

Catoosa in Cherokee means Between Two Hills, and the sofa is reflective of the two ends that come together and create a soft valley between the two ends.   The piece has a simple and minimal shape and its smooth curves provide a greater balance to its shape.
