Unelanvhi Chair
Mountain Song Chair
The “Mountain Song” lounge chair is inspired by the spirit of the mountains, which in Cherokee culture are seen as ancient beings that sing the stories of the earth. The chair has a bold, grounded design, with a wide, sturdy base made from stone-inlaid oak, symbolizing the permanence and strength of the mountains. In Cherokee culture, the mountains are sacred, seen as places of refuge, strength, and wisdom. The “Mountain Song” chair was designed to bring that feeling of peace and stability into the home, offering a space to reconnect with the earth and listen to its stories.
Cray Bauxmont-Flynn designed this chair to reflect his own reverence for the mountains that have long sheltered his ancestors. The chair is a place for grounding and reflection, where one can find their inner strength and peace. Proceeds from the “Mountain Song” chair support conservation efforts to protect the natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains and other sacred Native lands
